Accurint Virtual Crime Center
Part of the LexisNexis platform.
What it is
What It Does
Accurint Virtual Crime Center is a law-enforcement investigation and crime-analysis product from LexisNexis Risk Solutions. It pulls a police agency’s own records (RMS, CAD, crash and licence-plate-reader data) together with LexisNexis public-identity data into a single dashboard, mapping links between people, places, vehicles and phones to generate investigative leads. It also surfaces nationwide crime data for cross-jurisdiction context. A later feature, Accurint AI Insights, automates crime-trend identification from the LexisNexis Public Safety Data Exchange.
What We Found
This is a public-sector/policing product, not a law-firm tool — it is sold to law-enforcement agencies. LexisNexis cites the Public Safety Data Exchange as drawing on crime-incident data from 2,100+ contributing agencies. The product has drawn press scrutiny over government data sales and surveillance (e.g. a Vice investigation into LexisNexis selling data to government).
What We Haven’t Verified
- Pricing and contract terms (government procurement, not published).
- The 10,000+ data sources and 2,100+ agency figures are vendor claims.
- Current scope of the AI Insights feature.
