What It Does

Patentext is an AI patent-drafting platform aimed at startup founders, solo patent practitioners and boutique firms. The system interviews the user about an invention, builds a structured “Invention Graph” of claims, embodiments and alternatives that can be reviewed and edited, then drafts a full specification for a patent professional to check before filing. It handles provisional, non-provisional, PCT and continuation applications, and markets a flat fee per application rather than hourly billing.

For a solo or boutique patent attorney, the tool sits at the drafting stage: it produces a first-draft specification and claim set that still needs human review for claim strategy and USPTO compliance. The vendor positions the human-review step as mandatory rather than optional.

What We Found

The vendor states it holds SOC 2 (Type I and II) and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certifications, aligns with GDPR and CCPA, and runs zero-data-retention agreements with its model providers so that uploads and outputs are not used to train AI models.
