Foxit makes PDF editing and eSignature software — viewing, editing, converting, redaction and electronic signatures — used across many industries including legal. It is a general-purpose PDF and document toolkit rather than a legal-specific product, but its redaction, form-filling and signature features overlap with common firm document tasks, and it integrates with tools legal teams use (Box, DocuSign, Google Workspace, Microsoft SharePoint/Outlook/Teams, Salesforce).

What We Found

Foxit was founded in 2001 by Eugene Xiong. Its US operations are headquartered in Fremont, California, and LinkedIn lists company size at 501–1,000 employees. The company has a Chinese-founded parent structure; in 2025, some US federal agencies publicly distanced themselves from the software over concerns tied to Chinese law governing the parent entity (notably the 2017 National Intelligence Law). For US public-sector buyers, that history is worth factoring into procurement diligence.
