It connects to a data room, syncs the documents, and then runs analysis to flag missing or incomplete materials against the due diligence request list, map review status, and surface unusual clauses or risk areas for closer review. The output is structured reports a deal team can share. It is aimed at corporate/M&A lawyers and at VC and PE diligence work.

What We Found

Emma Legal raised €1.6 million in 2024, led by 6 Degrees Capital (London) with Belgian firm Entourage Capital. The founders, Rick Van Esch and Pieter Buteneers, previously built Chatlayer, which Sinch acquired in 2020. The company integrates with data-room providers including Virtual Vaults and Ansarada, and with general file stores (Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint). It is listed on Legaltech Hub and GetApp.
