MCJ (Mon Code Juridique) is a French legal reference tool that gives free access to French legal codes and case law on smartphone, tablet and web. Users can consult, search and save legal codes; a paid tier removes usage limits. The product is available on iOS, Android and at mcj.fr.
What We Found
The application was launched in September 2014 by founder Baptiste Lefèvre, who began the project during law studies in 2012. The company reports access to 69 French legal codes plus case law. Within a year of launch it reported more than 50,000 downloads. Lefèvre was a finalist for an innovation award from the Paris Bar Association. The company is based in the Greater Paris region.
