What it is

What It Does

Privva was a cloud-based vendor risk assessment platform used by law firms (and other regulated sectors) to centralise third-party security questionnaires, risk ratings, and scoring of vendor responses. It also offered AutoAssess, a feature that used machine learning to help firms respond to inbound client security assessments.

What We Found

Privva was founded in 2016 by John Lemp and Ishan Girdhar and based in Arlington, Virginia. It was acquired by Entreda in November 2021 and subsequently folded into Smarsh, where the capability now sits as Smarsh Vendor Risk Management. The standalone Privva brand is effectively retired. Buyers evaluating this should look at the Smarsh product line rather than a standalone Privva offering.

What We Haven’t Verified

  • Current standalone availability (appears discontinued / merged into Smarsh)
