Zuva
What it is
What It Does
Zuva is a contract and document-analysis AI company that spun out of Kira Systems after Kira was acquired by Litera in 2021. The technology extracts data points and clauses from contracts and other documents. Zuva packages it for developers (Zuva API) and non-technical users (Zuva Create, a no-code field-training interface), aiming at corporate and in-house teams rather than the law-firm market Kira originally served.
In September 2024 Zuva launched Zuva Analyze, a contract-review product for in-house legal teams (LawSites).
What We Found
Zuva closed a roughly CAD $20M Series A and positions itself around the foundational AI built at Kira (BetaKit). The vendor states the platform recognises over 1,400 data fields across 225 document types — a vendor figure we have not tested. Listed integrations include Microsoft Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Neota Logic, Salesforce, and Tungsten TotalAgility. LinkedIn lists a small team (roughly 2-10 staff).
What We Haven’t Verified
- The 1,400-field / 225-document-type coverage claim — vendor-stated, untested.
- Accuracy and recall of the extraction models in real legal workflows.
- Current headcount and revenue.
