What it is

What It Does

ProLaw is a law practice management and finance platform now sold by Elite, a division of Thomson Reuters. It combines case and matter management, time entry, billing, accounting, conflict checking, document management and reporting in one application, aimed at small-to-mid-size law firms, government legal departments and corporate legal teams. A browser-based component, ProLaw Workspace, was introduced as a successor to the older ProLaw Portal.

What We Found

ProLaw is most commonly deployed at firms of roughly 50-200 staff. Third-party reviewers position it as a fit for firms of around 10 or more people that want billing, accounting and matter management in a single system rather than separate tools. It is one of several practice/finance products in the Thomson Reuters legal portfolio.

What We Haven’t Verified

  • Current pricing — not published; demo/quote required.
  • Headcount, HQ and founding date as a distinct product line within Thomson Reuters.
  • The previously listed LinkedIn handle (highstreetprolaw) belongs to Highstreet ProLaw Group, an unrelated Michigan insurance agency for law firms — it has been removed from this entry.
