Lawmaster
What it is
What It Does
LawMaster is an Australian practice-management platform built for mid-to-large law firms, covering matter management, document handling, accounting and reporting, with deep integrations into Australian conveyancing and search providers (InfoTrack, GlobalX, Dye & Durham) plus DocuSign and the Microsoft stack.
What We Found
LawMaster was acquired by Actionstep on 15 September 2022, in the same consolidation move that saw Actionstep buy FilePro. At acquisition the platform had close to 4,000 daily subscribers, many of them established upper-mid-market Australian firms, and had launched a separate cloud product, Mattero, for smaller practices. Actionstep is winding LawMaster down and steering firms toward its own product — firms still on LawMaster face a forced migration on an uncertain timeline. New buyers should treat this as a legacy platform rather than an active product line.
Who It’s For
Historically mid-to-large Australian firms. Given the wind-down, it is no longer a sensible new-purchase decision; existing users are the main audience, and their question is migration planning.
