What it is

What It Does

1LAW (1LAW Legal Technologies LLC) is a consumer legal platform that uses AI to connect consumers with attorneys and lower the cost of legal help. It offers a free legal-chat service to consumers via web and mobile apps — supporting documents, messaging and video chat — and refers the resulting traffic to a network of attorneys. The vendor frames much of this as access-to-justice work.

The website on file (botineer.1law.com) points to Botineer, 1LAW’s contract-automation product. Botineer is a “legal bot builder”: it helps law firms and legal departments turn forms and templates into chatbots that guide a user through generating a contract. Botineer launched in 2017.

What We Found

1LAW says it has provided thousands of free legal chats and forms, and lists recognition from outlets including Above the Law, UC Hastings LexLab, The National Trial Lawyers and The National Law Journal.

What We Haven’t Verified

  • Free-chat volume and attorney-network size — vendor figures, not independently confirmed.
  • Founding date, headcount, funding and pricing not confirmed.
  • No independent reviews found on G2 or Capterra.
  • Note: the directory name carries a trailing “1” that appears to be a data artefact, not part of the brand.
